It is very important to keep your abrasion or cut clean, so it does not get infected. Rinsing the cut with water is usually sufficient. You can also use a mild soap to help clean it.
You will need to apply an antibiotic cream. I do not recommend using a powder. Then wrap with clean and sterile gauze or a bandaide.
Aloe gel is a good, soothing alternative to a store bought cream. It is antibacterial and an anti-inflammatory.
Lavender oil helps in the healing process.
Thyme tea in a cup of water or 3 drops of essential oil will disinfect the area.
Tea Tree Oil, calendula, or comfrey make wonderful salves and ointments.
